NEW PRINTS PROGRAM

 

 

 


New Prints 2001-winter opens at IPCNY in our Chelsea gallery with an exhibition of prints by 48 artists, both established and emerging. The selection offers enormous variety in style, medium, technique, and subject matter, varying from Kathryn Hagy's "Waterfalls 2000", a scroll-like lithograph on wallpaper, to Matthias Mansen's "Couple, Stein am Rhein 2000", a 79 by 58 inch woodcut, to Tony Fitzpatrick's 3x4 inch color etchings of insects, "Bug Circus." Also included are works by James Brown, Scott Greiger, William Howard, Charles Long, Linda Schwarz, Hollis Sigler and William Wegman. Members of the Selections Committee for this second presentation of IPCNY's new prints program are: Faye Hirsch, Editor of Art on Paper; David Kiehl, Curator of Prints at the Whitney Museum of American Art; David Lasry, Master Printer, Two Palms Press; Robert E. Monk, Gagosian Gallery; Roberta Waddell, Curator of the Prints Collection of the New York Public Library; and Edward J. Gargiulo, Jr., Collector and IPCNY Trustee.

New Prints 2001-winter will run until April 2001; gallery hours are Monday-Friday, 12 p.m.-6 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m.- 6 p.m.
