Our Internship and Volunteer Program has been in place for eight years, offering students and print enthusiasts a wide range of experience in our busy administrative office. This is an excellent opportunity for those with an interest in printmaking or arts administration. Since IPCNY is continuously growing and progressing, internship responsibilities evolve with the organization's needs. Some of the responsibilities are administrative, while others are project oriented. This offers a broad range of experiences at an exciting time in the life of this new institution. Over the course of the internship, students are presented with a "global view" of the print world as well as an in-depth view of the operations of a multi-faceted non-profit art organization and gallery space. IPCNY's location in Chelsea, allows the opportunity for exposure to neighborhood galleries as well as the city's unparalleled wealth of art resources. Project/ Curatorial Intern The Project Intern will assist with the planning and execution of its New Prints Program-an ongoing series of juried installations of contemporary prints in its Chelsea gallery. Duties include communicating with members of the Selections Committee, solicitation mailing to artists and presses worldwide, registration and presenting of slide entries, follow up with presses, research, loan agreements, registration of artwork, conditions reports, installation and documentation, press relations. Four installations are planned each season. Administrative Intern Administrative interns assist the Director with administration and programs. Internship duties include membership development, fundraising, marketing, press relations, events-planning, website maintenance, and general assistance with administration of shows in our exhibition space. the eight year history of the program, interns have come to IPCNY
